ellie fagg
Described by the Strad magazine as playing ‘with a sense of enchantment’, Ellie enjoys an exciting and eclectic career performing as a soloist, chamber musician, leader and orchestral player.
Her love of chamber music began at the age of seven at Pro Corda and she went on to lead the National Youth Orchestra in 2001. She studied at the Royal College of Music as an Associated Board Scholar and won coveted awards from MBF and Countess of Munster. Last year Ellie led and directed the London Chamber Orchestra at Cadogan Hall and the United Strings of Europe in Glasgow. She appeared many times as leader and soloist with the Piccadilly Sinfonietta in London and across the UK. Ellie has had the pleasure of performing and touring with the LSO for 20 years.
She is an avid chamber musician, collaborating in piano trios with Warren Mailey Smith and Kath Jenkinson, and, as a member of the Puertas Quartet she reached the semi-final of the Bordeaux International String Quartet competition, made three tours of New Zealand and recorded two CDs on Atoll records with critical acclaim. She is looking forward to a busy 2024 of chamber music with enSEmble26, USE, the Razumovsky Quartet and guest leading with various string quartets. Ellie also enjoys the occasional evening playing in the musical Hamilton!
Ellie plays on a 1715 Daniel Parker violin which was once owned by Fritz Kreisler.
