Sol Grimshaw is currently in his 4th year of studying jazz guitar at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Prior to starting his degree course at the Guildhall Sol was a student at the prestigious Purcell School of Music for 4 years and also the junior Royal Academy of Music for 2 years. Since living in London Sol has immersed himself in the rich music scene, having now played at venues such as; Ronnie Scotts, 606 Club, Pizza Express Soho, Savoy Hotel, Crazy Coqs, Milton Court, Kansas Smitty’s and Toulouse Lautrec.Sol has always had a passion for a variety of music styles. But Gypsy jazz and early jazz have always been favourites. Django Reinhardt, Lester Young and Billie Holiday are some of Sol’s musical idols.
